A Day in the Life of a Log Delivery — Behind the Scenes at Mr Logs
At Mr Logs, we know that when you see your neatly stacked pile of kiln dried or seasoned logs, it all looks simple and effortless. But behind every delivery is a busy team working hard to make sure your firewood arrives dry, clean, and right on time.
Ever wondered what goes into your log delivery? Come with us for a behind-the-scenes look at a typical day in the life of a Mr Logs delivery.
6:30am — The Early Start
The day starts bright and early at Mr Logs HQ. Before most people have even had their first coffee, the team is already out in the yard checking orders, planning delivery routes, and inspecting the log piles.
✅ We double-check:
-
Moisture content (always under 20%)
-
Log sizes (cut to fit your stove)
-
The exact quantity for each order
7:00am — Loading Up
The forklift whirs into action as we load up the delivery trucks and trailers. Each order is carefully packed — whether it’s:
-
Bulk loose loads
-
Handy log bags
-
Stacked crates
We know that nothing is more frustrating than a messy delivery, so we secure everything to keep it clean, tidy, and easy for our customers to receive.
8:40am — On the Road
Our drivers set off across the region, navigating winding country roads, narrow driveways, and sometimes the odd curious sheep or two.
✅ With our carefully planned routes, we make sure deliveries are as eco-friendly and efficient as possible.
10:00am — First Drops of the Day
At each stop, we greet customers with a friendly smile and a bit of chat — especially when loyal customers are waiting eagerly for their winter supply.
✅ We:
-
Unload logs exactly where you want them (within reason, don't forget we're not superman)
-
Give storage tips if needed
-
Answer any log burning questions
12:00pm — The Lunch Break (Well-Deserved!)
After a busy morning lifting, stacking, and delivering, it’s time for a quick break — often in the cab with a flask of tea and a bacon butty.
1:00pm — Afternoon Runs
The afternoon deliveries take us everywhere from small village cottages to large rural homes, businesses, and even the odd pub with a roaring open fire.
✅ No delivery is too big or too small — whether it’s a small top-up or a full winter’s worth of logs.
4:30pm — Back to Base
Once the last load is delivered, the trucks return to HQ. The team carries out end-of-day checks on vehicles, prepares stock for tomorrow, and processes new orders that have come in during the day.
✅ Logs are stacked, moisture tested, and restocked, ready for the next round of deliveries.
5:00pm — Another Day Done
After a long, busy day, it’s home time for the team — but we’re ready to do it all again tomorrow!
