Delivery and Collection Policy
Delivery & Collection Policy
Delivery
All deliveries are handled by our own team using our own vehicles — no third-party couriers. This gives us full control to provide a reliable, safe, and professional service from start to finish.
We operate several delivery vehicles, including 3.5-tonne Transit-style trucks (some with cranes) and a larger lorry capable of carrying up to 18 tonnes. These vehicles are suitable for most residential and trade locations.
Types of Delivery
- Standard curbside delivery: Most orders are dropped at the roadside or tipped off on hardstanding.
- Driveway delivery: If requested, we may reverse onto your driveway to unload. Please note this is entirely at your risk. Our smaller vehicles weigh 3.5 tonnes and our larger lorry can carry up to 18 tonnes — these weights have the potential to cause damage to paving, blockwork or underground services. We cannot accept liability for any damage caused if you have given permission to access your driveway.
- Crane-assisted delivery: We can lift certain lightweight bags (such as logs or kindling) over low fences and walls. However, we cannot crane-lift heavy items like topsoil, compost, or aggregates. While our drivers will always do their best to help, they have the final say on what is safe and possible on-site, based on their professional judgement and the equipment’s capabilities. We ask customers to respect their decisions.
Delivery Charges
Delivery charges depend entirely on what you're ordering and how much, allowing us to give you the best rate possible. As a guide, delivery typically costs between £1.50 – £2.00 per mile from our HQ at Friesland Farm, NG10 5NP.
We currently deliver within a 60-mile radius. Nationwide delivery is not available at this time.
To get an exact delivery quote: Add your items to the cart, proceed to checkout, enter your delivery address, and your rate will be calculated automatically.
Other Notes
- No weekend deliveries — we deliver Monday to Friday only.
- Delivery lead times are dynamic and shown at the top of our website.
- Use the checkout notes box to give any relevant information (e.g. restricted access, crane request, safe tipping area).
- For more complex deliveries, we recommend someone is present on-site.
Collection
You're welcome to collect your order from our yard during the following hours:
- Monday to Friday: 09:00 – 16:30
- Saturday: 09:00 – 12:00
If you're planning to collect, it's a good idea to message us in advance with what you need — we’ll make sure it’s ready for you. Please be aware that our lunch hour is 12:00 - 13:00 where the yard has limited staff and wait times will be longer.
Please take care when visiting — our yard is part of an active working farm with large machinery in use. Always park sensibly and follow staff instructions when on-site.
